Jodie Schmidt
Jodie discovered her love of oil painting while earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. After graduating with honors, she continued studying art on her own and through classes with the artist, Rebecca Pearl. She has exhibited her artwork at The Artists’ Gallery and in the Delaplaine Visual Arts Center gift shop in Frederick, Maryland. Jodie continues to paint. She accepts custom art orders for human and pet portraits in oil and pastel, and has done so for many years. In her spare time, she keeps her skills sharp by working in a sketchbook almost daily, which often leads to ideas for new paintings or mixed media work that she finds fulfilling. Sometimes, she posts the results on Facebook or Instagram.
Currently, she is working on updating this website with a shop page which will include new art work for sale which will be available on ETSY and Red Bubble. It is in preparation for an art fundraiser, she wishes to create to help pay for hospital bills and an extended period of unemployment due to an unexpected accident and major surgery on her right femur.
