Its been a while since I have posted since I have been waiting for some new news to share with you. My artwork will be displayed at the GWC Gallery for the month of October as part of a No Theme Show. Gloria is a new gallery owner who is working on helping new artists to have a space to exhibit their art. Come on down and visit! Here is a link to her website: https://www.gwc-artwork.com/. These are some of my oil paintings on display at the gallery. They feature scenes from beautiful Catoctin State Park, based on photos I took during the autumn. The paintings are custom framed with a beautiful wood frame, so they are all ready to hang on your wall!
I wanted to share some exciting news! After several months of the art show circuit, I am back on track and will be exhibiting my oil paintings, acrylics and some watercolors at a 1-day
pop-up event, hosted by Leslie Ruby. I will be selling my artwork and be demonstrating how to draw portraits in pastel. This event will be part of a group of artisans and makers who will be displaying their creations at Sky Stage in Frederick, MD, hosted by the wonderful Leslie Ruby. Here is a link to the website for Sky Stage in case you aren’t familiar with the location: http://www.skystagefrederick.com/. Hope to see you there!
I’m so excited to announce that I sold two original oil paintings, Gerbera Daisy and Jack Daniels via my Etsy website, https://www.etsy.com/shop/ArtofSchmidt, with a little help from a Facebook post I made last night. It is a welcome relief after several months of no sales from original pieces. Now I need to start adding new work to make up for the missing spaces.
I’d love to hear from you about what subject matter I should include. What’s your favorite subject? Animals, still life, landscape or portraits?
The big news here at Art of Schmidt (that’s me!), is that I have a new art exhibit displayed at Bollinger’s Restaurant in Thurmont, MD. My oil paintings of still life and landscape will be up for the month of December. All items are for sale and have been custom framed, so they are ready to hang on your wall! I took some pictures of the exhibit with my phone, but they did not turn out as well as I would have liked, so I am also posting some photos I took of these paintings with my camera before I set up the art show. The restaurant is located at 210 North Church Street, Thurmont, MD 21788 and Bollinger’s is open Monday through Saturday 6 am-8 pm, except for Sundays when the hours are 7 am- 2pm.
I am pleased to share that my oil painting, Cow in the Meadow, sold to a client this May. If you wanted to purchase the painting but didn’t get a chance, I have reproductions of this painting for sale on my Redbubble store at https://www.redbubble.com/people/jsjschmidt2017/works/26919397-cow-in-the-meadow. There are canvas prints, iPhone cases and more with this painting on it! Iphone cases are selling for $25 each.
I am pleased to announce that my artwork is available for sale as mugs, t-shirts, i-phone cases and more on the website http://www.redbubble.com. Here is a link for my online shop: https://www.redbubble.com/people/jsjschmidt2017. A few samples of my work that will be featured on this site are Owl at Midnight, Ghost House and Self-Portrait. iPhone cases are available for sale at $25 each. I made this online store in an effort to make my artwork more affordable for those who admire my artwork but might not be able to afford prices for my originals. Each piece is based on my original work and is copywritten art of Schmidt 2017. If you are interested in purchasing my original artwork please go to my Etsy website at http://www.etsy.com/shop/ArtofSchmidt. Thank you for stopping by!
